Does anybody know where I go on the MS site to submit a feature request? The commercials make Microsoft seem so friendly and approachable.
Anyway, I had a great idea- what if Microsoft, instead of pumping out crappy versions of Internet Explorer, were to bundle Microsoft OSes with Firefox?

While I was finishing my business in the bathroom this morning, I finally figured out why it makes me feel a little funny that Courtney's alumni magazine is on top of the toilet.

It's a Novation Launchpad. Those are buttons. They light up. You press them. It wants to be a monome.
Turns out that the remote worked like a dream, but once the remote was operating smoothly the IR Blaster stopped working. After further testing it appeared that I could only get ONE device to work at a time- whichever device was operating on /dev/lircd.
BAH.
After much research, turns out there is an issue in the script that resides at /etc/init.d/lirc. Who knew?.
Fixed that one line by hand, restarted lirc, and BOOM- remote is working like a champ.
So I finally got the Radio Shack remote working with my install of Mythbuntu. This practically completes the setup (not really)!
One thing that was unclear in the process was the Mythbuntu Control Centre. I was not sure whether I needed to select the remote from the IR dropdown list or the hardware. Both were listed. I was able to get some buttons working using the generic sounding "Hauppauge card" and the Radio Shack 3-in-one wasn't working at all (maybe I needed to punch some "Codes" into the remote? It was unclear).
Before I began the process, I wasn't sure if the Hauppauge PVR-150 would even be able to listen for the Radio Shack remote. In all of my research I couldn't find the answer to this. It turns out they use the same protocol and will communicate properly. RC5.
IRRECORD is the answer.
After failing to get all the buttons working with all of the various flavors of lirc conf files that were supposedly for my 3-in-1 remote (some of them got a few of the buttons functioning properly) I went the irrecord route. It was relatively easy. Irrecord listens to your receiver and lets you relate button names on the remote to buttons in Linux and saves it to a conf file. After running through all of the buttons on the remote I ran mythbuntu-lircrc-generator which I assume makes the lirc buttons relate to mythtv buttons. I SHOULD write an explanation of what each of the files does as this was the confusing part for me.
Here's a list of television shows that are on the to-delete list from my Mythbuntu box. I have the Mythv frontend on my MacBook Pro, too, allowing me to watch tv on my laptop. Boom. Hooked. Maybe I should open it up to the public so my friends can tell me what to watch. Like that guy who opened his automated house up to the internet- you can watch him sit on his computer in his underwear and flip the lights on and off around him. (can't find the link).
So I've successfully upgrading my Mythbuntu box from 9.04 to 9.10 and thus Mythtv .21 to Mythtv .22 and I desperately want to include some fanart on my fancy-ass themes for my .22 frontend OSX builds (graciously provided by TheSniderPad.com. Only trouble is I'm having trouble! Fanart appears to work fine on the Mythbuntu frontend but there appears to be some sort of sharing issue with OSX. Unfortunately, the Mythtv log files have not been much help. Anybody have any luck with a similar setup?
